HOW TO SYNCHRONISE CATALOGS FROM A CSV FILE

STEP 1

Your merchant will have to give you his catalog file in the form of a CSV file that has been put online in the form of a URL. If you click on the URL, it will appear as lines of words and will be unintelligible but is a representation of his CSV file. You will need this URL later.

STEP 2

Log into your administrator back office and hover over “Administration” in the top left of the menu. Click on “Jobs Planning”.

STEP 3

Click on “Plan a Job”

STEP 4

This is when you pick the type of import you are doing. If your merchant operates on Magento or Prestashop, you would choose those options in the dropdown. For this example, I am choosing “Flat Import 2”, as this option corresponds with a basic CSV file import. Once selected, click “Validate”.

If you have questions about which option to choose in your backoffice, please contact us at lh@cloudcommercefactory.com.

STEP 5

This is where you configure the import.

The CRON indicates how often you want the catalogs to sync. You can find information on the CRON syntax here. (Please contact us if you need more information).

The URL String is the CSV URL that your merchant gave you.

His user ID can be found in his account information, accessible from  “Users > Merchants”, in your Administrator Back Office.

Click “Plan a job”.

STEP 6

The job is now set up. It will not be immediately imported due to the time you indicated.(For example, if you timed it every day at 12pm, it will not import until 12pm.) In order to immediately import, go back to the “Jobs Planning” page, and click on the leftmost arrow.

To illustrate the CRON, look at the image to the right. The first CRON that I underlined (0 0 */4 * * ?) indicates a synchronisation every 4 hours. The bottommost CRON indicates synchronisation every day at 12pm.

STEP 7

The merchant category names must now be linked to the category names on your marketplace. For example, a merchant might call his category “Maritime Books”, but you call it “Nautical Books”. They include the same products, so you will need to link them. You will do this in Unknown Categories. More information on this later.

Once the categories are linked, refresh the job by clicking again on the arrow and the products will appear online.
